This week I begin the spring semester in the Honors College of the University of Missouri and one of the courses I am very excited about is Liminality and Literature. We will read and discuss four liminally packed works of contemporary literature. They are:

A baffling virus takes sight away from the citizens of an unsuspecting town and the worst and best of human nature is revealed as a result.
The Whale Caller by Zakes Nda
The margin between land and sea is occupied by man and whale, a love affair that surpasses all others.
Nomadland by Jessica Bruder
An examination of the modern phenomenon of living mobile in communities of the mobile.
